Payments

Customers signed up for our 6 or 12 weekly rounds are required to pay via direct debit with GoCardless. You can set this up via our Payments page on the website. We can also do this for you over the phone by calling 07528764761. Please note we are unable to clean your property without an active direct debit in place. Once set up, payment will be taken 3-5 days after each successful clean. If we are unable to clean for example adverse weather conditions, then you will not be charged.
Customers who are not on our regular rounds and wish to book a one-off clean such as Gutter Cleaning are required to pay within 7 days via bank transfer/card payment. Details will be on your invoice and sent to you after the job is completed.

If non-payment exceeds 30 days Mr Squeegee Window Cleaning reserve the right to suspend your cleaning. If we then fail to receive monies owed within 90 days, we will pass on your details to a collection agency to recover the debt, you will then be liable for all related charges, collection agency fees and court-related fees.

First Clean

There will be an additional cost for your first clean as these cleans tend to take longer than regular maintenance cleans. This will differ depending on house size, and round frequency. This will be explained to you when signing up.

Expectations

The day before each visit you will receive a text or email reminding you of our visit. Please ensure access is made available and that windows and vents are closed when we arrive. Our reminder messages are unable to be replied to. If you wish to contact us, please do so through the usual means. We may be unable to guarantee an exact time of arrival as our round changes from time to time. Using our Pure Water System, we can get a streak/spot-free finish removing general dirt and mess from your windows, frames, sills and doors. This method will also keep your windows cleaner for longer when compared to traditional methods. If your windows, frames and doors have anything non-organic on them such as concrete, rust, paint, stickers, adhesive, chemical staining, or discolouration, then our normal method will not be effective at removing it. Please let us know beforehand and we can arrange a deep clean for this.

Our Gutter Clearance service is carried out by our top-of-the-range Gutter-Vac Machine. We may require access to an electrical point on the day of the clean for us to be able to carry out this work. We use an inspection camera to inspect your gutters before and after your clean. Downpipes are also cleared and checked.

Restrictions

If we are unable to access your property such as a locked gate, we will clean the areas we can access such as the front and sides. You will be charged your usual price. If you are away on holiday or have forgotten to leave the gate open please get in touch as soon as possible to book your rear window clean and we will revisit when access is available. In some cases, it may not be possible to return to clean the missed windows until your next scheduled date.

We will endeavour to clean all windows, but if we deem any windows to be inaccessible or unsafe to clean, we will not clean them.

Due to insurance liabilities, we will be unable to move obstacles such as but not exclusive to flowerpots, garden furniture etc. If these or any other items restrict access to an area of your property, we will be unable to clean it.

Due to insurance liabilities, we do not bring our water hoses through the main part of your property (through garage is ok) or climb over fences. We do offer a “front windows only” service for properties with no rear access.

Weather

Our pure water systems work in all weathers; therefore, weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for postponing our services. We offer an all-year-round regular service. We will clean your property in all weather conditions including rain and very low temperatures. High winds and deep snow do affect our services & schedule. If you wish to cancel our services during “winter months” you will be removed from our regular round and a first clean charge will apply when signing up again.

Cancellations

We will try to be as reliable as we can for you, but we also appreciate the customer being reliable. We will make time and space in our schedule for you. On the day of the clean, it is too late for us to replace your clean with another. We reserve the right if turning our team away at the door or cancelling on the day, to charge you the full price expected and/or cancel any ongoing service with us. We also reserve the right to charge the full price expected if access on the day has not been made available by the customer. If you wish to cancel a clean due to reasons such as going away on holiday or having building work done, then please let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled clean to allow us time to replace your clean with another. Our window cleaning service is an external service and should not be affected by anything going on inside your property.

Please note, we do not offer one-off window cleans. By using our services, you agree to a minimum of 2 cleans. If you are cancelling before the 2 cleans have taken place, the remaining cleans will be payable. Cancelling your direct debit via your bank will not cancel your cleans.

Damages
Our window cleaners do not accept liability for damage caused by decorative or structural defects at your property, such as but not limited to, ill-fitting windows, doors, fascia’s, guttering, window/conservatory trims, unsecured windows and doors, leaking seals, loose stuck on lead, decorative bars stuck on glass, rotting frames, flaking paint, open/broken trickle vents, etc.

Our window cleaners accept no liability for decorative bars coming loose or falling from the exterior of the glass. If these bars are correctly installed our brushes will not damage them in any way. If they do become loose or fall off it is likely because the adhesive is not bonding correctly with the glass. This is because over time the double-sided tape used to stick the bars to your glass loses its adhesion.

Scratched window sills: Over time your UPVC window frames will start to oxidise and slowly lose their colour. Your windows sills will be the most affected. When we are cleaning your windows our brush head which is made from soft plastic with nylon bristles may remove some of the oxidation. This may look like scratches but in fact, it’s just where the grey oxidation has been removed. We will not be held responsible for returning your windows back to “as new” condition.

Scratched glass: The brushes we use are specifically designed for window cleaning and are made of a soft plastic headstock with nylon bristles. There is nothing on the brush which can scratch your glass. There are no metal parts on the brush. If you feel that we have caused damage to your glass, we will bring over a brush and ask if you can scratch the glass again. If you succeed, we will pay to replace the glass.

Due to insurance liabilities, we no longer bring our water hoses through the main part of customers houses but we can go through garages. If your house has no other means of rear access other than going through the living area of the house, we do offer a fronts-only service.

Complaints

We always aim to provide a very high standard of work on every clean. Our work is covered by our satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are not happy with your clean, we will return to inspect the affected area within 48 hours and reclean this free of charge. Any complaints must be made within 48 hours to be covered by the guarantee. Complaints made after this time may not be dealt with as the quality of your previous clean may now be affected by things outside of our control such as weather/winds etc.
